Every effort is made by the receptionists to make an appointment as soon as possible. If you have a problem that you think needs to be seen on the same day please say this to the receptionist. The duty doctor and occasionally a nurse practitioner run a ‘same day’ clinic.
The receptionist will ask you for a brief idea of the problem so that we can decide who will be best to see you. If you do not want to say what the problem is just say it is personal.
10 minute appointments - one appointment one problem
Patients are booked to see the doctor at 10 minute intervals. Please bear this in mind when making the appointment.
If you have a large number of problems to deal with please discuss with the doctor whether you should come back for a further appointment at a different time or book a double appointment.
Due to a shortage of Doctors we have limited the rotas to 4 weeks to protect both Doctors and patients from any further changes or cancelations due to sickness.
The Nurses rotas are cleared every 4 weeks and we do try to aim for 8 weeks to be available to patients.
You can book and cancel appointments online using the link (top of this page). You will only be able to book appointments with:
- Any Doctor for Routine Appointments ONLY

Making an appointment / Same day appointments
We operate a system for appointments that aims to deal with everyone in a timely manner.
We run same day appointments for patients who need to be seen on the same day. If you think you need to be seen the same day we will always offer you an appointment. These are not with a named doctor and are shared between all the doctors on duty that day. These appointments are timed at five minute intervals.
Because we have to reserve some of our appointments for emergency 'same day' appoitments it does mean that sometimes there is more of a wait for routine appointments - but if you have to wait for a routine appointment we hope that you will understand it is so that more urgent cases can be dealt with promptly and you may need one of the more urgent appointments another time
We endeavour to see patients as soon as possible. If you have a problem requesting an appointment please let the receptionist or your doctor know.
To make an appointment please telephone 01452 862247 between the following hours:
8am - 10am to request home visits and emergency appointments
10am - 6pm to arrange routine appointments and all other requests
IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO KEEP YOUR APPOINTMENT - please contact us as soon as possible to enable another patient to be seen. It is possible to cancel an appointment when the surgery is closed – telephone the normal surgery number and you will be instructed what to do.
As a result of feedback from our patients and with the current support of the Clinical Commissioning group we do offer a limited number of late appointments for people to attend out of their normal working day.
We open late on Wednesdays and start early on alternate Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings. These appointments are offered for people who work and can not have time off work to come to the surgery. We will do our best to accommodate you if you require one of these appointments.
There two marked disabled parking spaces situated at the far end of the car park. Disabled toilet facilities are near reception. If you have any problems accessing the surgery please ring beforehand and speak to the receptionists.
